Our Story
Tee It Up for the Troops is a national non-profit organization founded in 2005 by the family and friends of a soldier serving in Iraq. When the soldier’s father asked him what he needed, the son responded by asking his father to do something for the returning service members and their families back home. Tee It Up for the Troops was established to honor that selfless request.
Since inception, Tee It Up for the Troops has inspired communities across the USA to host fundraising events on behalf of the military men and women who have sacrificed immeasurably for our freedom. The proceeds from these events benefit veterans and their families from all branches and all conflicts.
Our Impact
When a military member returns to their community, they face a variety of challenges so addressing one area many times is not enough. That is why Tee It Up for the Troops supports six core pillars including: Housing and Homelessness, Family and Caregiver Support, PTSD and Traumatic Brain Injury Treatment, Suicide Prevention, Employment, and Sports Rehabilitation. Now in its 20th year, Tee It Up for the Troops has donated over $16 million to positively impact more than 320,000 American heroes. This support helps them get back on course and successfully transition from the battlefront to the home front.
Our Reunion
Just as warrior cultures from the past understood the value of allowing combat soldiers to share their experiences with one another, Tee It Up for the Troops also recognizes the critical importance of that type of healing and camaraderie. Through our REUNION outreach program, we reunite battle buddies who were separated due to battlefield injuries. These reunions play a vital role in helping combat veterans heal from the hidden wounds of war, including depression, isolation, and suicide.
